Update the latest information on Thu Thiem land auction

At the end of 2021, Ho Chi Minh City successfully auctioned 4 pieces of land in Thu Thiem area, with a total amount of more than 37 trillion VND, but many winning companies have asked for deposits. On January 7, Huynh Van Thanh, deputy director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City, said in the “People’s Questions-Government Answers” program broadcast live on HTV9 that the Ho Chi Minh City Municipal Party Committee and People’s Committee have approved the content of the land auction plan in Thu Thiem area. Outside this area, the city government will finalize and implement it later.

Mr Thanh said organizing land use rights auctions in places such as Thu Thiem to obtain available clean land funds is also one of the city’s four main solutions to effectively generate land revenue by 2024.

It is understood that at the end of 2021, Ho Chi Minh City successfully auctioned 4 pieces of land in Thu Thiem area, with the auction amount exceeding VND 37 trillion. The sales price of plots 3-12 alone reached a record price of VND2.43 billion per square meter. However, since then, the winning bidders have failed to pay land use fees on time and have requested the deposit be cancelled.

By July 2023, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City will issue an emergency document to propose a detailed plan to the Municipal People’s Committee to organize the auction of land and 3,790 apartments in Thu Thiem New Urban District in Thu Duc City. .

It is worth noting that among them, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized the need to urgently auction 3 pieces of land in advance (Plots 1-2, 1-3 and 3 in the first functional area). Functional Area 3 – 5).

Regarding the detailed plan for the auction of land parcels, of which land parcels 1-2 and 1-3 belong to the first functional area, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment recommended that the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee approve the auction plan before October 5, 2023 An auction will be held in June 2024.

For plots 3-5 in the third functional zone, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment recommended that the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee approve the auction plan before November 10, 2023. Then go through the next steps and organize the auction in July 2024.

After obtaining the auction results of the above three plots of land, the relevant departments and branches will sum up their experience and plan to organize the auction of seven plots of land in Thu Thiem New Town, including the land that was previously divided into three plots. It was successfully auctioned in December 2021 for plots 3-8, 3-9 and 3-12 in Functional Area 3.
