The first bank to distribute cash dividends in 2024

The bank expects the funds used to distribute dividends to exceed VND1.5 trillion. Vietnam International Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VIB (HM: ) – Ticker: VIB) has just announced the final registration date to finalize the list of shareholders to receive 2023 advance cash dividends at an interest rate of 6%, which is September 22. January 2024.

VIB is the first bank to announce the final date for cash dividends in 2024. Its registered capital exceeds VND25 trillion, and the dividend amount is expected to exceed VND1.5 trillion.

Previously, in the first two quarters of 2023, VIB also spent more than 2.1 trillion VND to pay cash dividends in 2022, with an interest rate of 15%, paid in two installments, 10% in March 2023 and 5% in May 2023. . In addition to paying cash dividends, VIB also pays stock dividends to increase registered capital by 20%.

In addition, at the end of June, VIB issued an additional 7.6 million ESOP shares to employees. The bank’s total registered capital has increased to VND 25,368 billion.

In terms of operating performance, as of the end of the first nine months of 2023, VIB recorded interest income of VND 13 trillion, an increase of 18%, and non-interest income accounted for 20% of total operating income. Operating costs are well controlled, reaching 4.84 trillion VND, an increase of only 4.5% over the previous year.

After the first nine months of this year, VIB recorded a pre-tax profit of VND8,325 billion, an increase of 7% compared with the same period in 2022, and a return on equity (ROE) of 27%, maintaining industry leading profitability efficiency.
