Starknet opens voting to move v0.13.0 upgrade from testnet to mainnet
[ad_1]
Ethereum layer 2 rollup Starknet has held a community vote on the major upgrade transition of Starknet v0.13.0 from testnet to mainnet.
In addition to the Ether the protocol previously accepted, the upgrade also facilitates payment of transaction fees in STRK, Starknet’s native token. STRK is not yet available, and it is unclear how the vote will affect its release.
Community members can provide input on the Starknet Governance Hub from 7:00 pm on January 4 to 7:00 pm on January 8 (Vietnam time).
It’s time to vote to move Starknet v0.13.0 from testnet to mainnet! Delegates, please vote in the Starknet Governance Center between January 4th at 12:00 UTC and January 8th at 12:00 UTC 🗳️https://t.co/auNWrOMyov

Vote with tokens
Some community members are confused about how voting will be conducted ahead of the STRK airdrop, but voting is up to delegates, not token holders. Over the past year, the Starknet Foundation has allocated voting rights to a large group of independent representatives.
“We encourage all members of the Starknet community to participate in discussions and provide input on proposed updates in the community forum.”
