Polkadot community prepares to launch first memecoin on network, promising airdrop to DOT holders

To differentiate itself from other cryptocurrency projects, the Polkadot community launched its own memecoin – DED.

Recently, Polkadot has just taken a strategic step and launched the memecoin DED.

It is worth noting that DED is not open for pre-sale or group distribution. This makes Polkadot’s memecoin transparent and decentralized compared to other memecoins.

Instead, DED uses an airdrop program to the community as part of a fair token distribution plan, specifically for DOT holders.

Just a few days after implementing this new approach, community interest in DED has increased significantly, the Polkadot ecosystem has become more active, and the DOT coin has received a positive response.

Specifically, only 9 days after the project was launched, the number of members in the DED Telegram group reached 5,000.

Driven by strong community interest in DED, several leading players in the Polkadot ecosystem have also supported this memecoin, such as Nova Wallet, SubWallet, Talisman, StellaSwap DEX…

On the Polkadot side, the project is also benefiting from community excitement about $DED. Daily active users surged 200%. The increase in activity caused Polkadot transaction fees to reach an all-time high of $2.6 million in the week ending December 25. Additionally, the number of staked DOT tokens has also increased significantly.

As of this writing, DOT is trading at around $7.60, with a market capitalization of $10.1 billion.
