Yuga Labs’ Metaverse Project Dominates 10 Most Expensive Land NFTs of 2023

Despite being still young (just over a year old), Yuga Labs’ Otherside project is still going strong, dominating the market for Metaverse land sales.

The Otherside consists of virtual lands called “Otherdeeds” and the creators who inhabit them are called Kodas.

Notably, when Otherside first launched on May 1, 2022, the land sold out within hours, bringing in $317 million in revenue for Yuga.

Yuga was so successful that it subsequently launched another project, “Otherside Expanded”, on April 3, 2023, as a companion project to the 2D strategy game “Otherside: The Legend of Mara”.

It did not exceed expectations, and the new project also received widespread attention from the society. This allowed Yuga to gain huge profits while further affirming its position in the NFT/Metaverse field.

In particular, according to the list of best-selling Metaverse NFTs compiled by The Block Research, the 10 most expensive Metaverse NFTs of the year belong to Yuga Labs’ Otherdeed for Otherside or Otherdeed Expanded projects, with NFT prices ranging from US$276,000 to US$514,350.

*This list is in ascending order based on the USD and ETH value of the NFT at the time of sale. Eight of these 10 NFTs are owned by NFT collector n0b0dy.eth. The remaining 2 were burned a few months after being sold.

10) Other contract #67782 – 182.5 ETH ($276,500)

On February 10, this NFT sold for 182.5 ETH (approximately $276,500), when ETH was trading at about $1,515.

As can be seen, this NFT Otherdeed #67782 is the only NFT to feature “Molten Melt” and “Mallowrium”, as well as the rare Eastern resource “psychosilk” owned by only 2.8% of other Otherdeed NFTs.

It is worth noting that it is unclear whether the NFT owner intentionally or unintentionally send A few months later (April 6) it arrived at a burning address.

9) Other contract #89263 – 186.69 ETH ($289,600)

Otherdeed #89263 is a rare item with 23 functions (only 0.6% of NFTs in the collection have it). The NFT also has a 1/1 Consecrated Koda Core and a 1/1 Temple Prophet Koda Head. Additionally, Otherdeed #89263 hosts a southern kinsoul resource with a prevalence of 2.7% in the collection.

Otherdeed #89263 sold on X2Y2 for 186.69 ETH on January 14, when the price of ETH was $1,551/token.

8) Other contract #81764 – 185 ETH ($307,100)

Otherdeed #81764, unique for its jungle environment (3.0% rarity) and southern bone stone resources (2.8%), sold on X2Y2 for approximately $307,100 on January 20, when ETH was priced at $1,660/generation currency.

According to X2Y2’s rarity tracker, #81794 ranks 191st in the series out of 100,000 Otherdeed NFTs.

7) Other Contract #54421 – 200 ETH ($334,400)

Otherdeed #54421 is the only NFT that contains the Eternal Artifact Blade (1/1), Brimstone East Resource (6%), Crystal Environment (6%), and Lumileaf North Resource (6%).

On February 7, ETH was trading at 200 ETH (approximately $1,672) on OpenSea.

6 and 5) Other Contract #2118 – 208 ETH ($361,300)

The same NFT but bought twice?

It appears that this NFT was traded back and forth within seven hours on March 22. And because the price of NFT is as high as 208 ETH, it has firmly ranked in the middle of the top 10 list.

The value of ETH at the time the NFT was released was $1,737. Otherdeed #2118 has a Koda head with twisted horn features (0.3%), a forest Koda core (0.2%).

4) Other contract #23332 – 200 ETH ($374,200)

Otherdeed #23332 has the Prophecy Scroll artifact, 1/1 trait, and 5% rarity of Sky. On May 2, the NFT was sold on OpenSea for 200 ETH, when ETH was valued at $1,871.

3) Other contract #7906 – 230 ETH ($390,000)

Otherdeed #7906 has many ultra-rare features: “Mirror Mirror” Artifact (1/1), Adventure Cover Koda Clothes (0.18%), Psychic Koda Elf Core (0.18%), Eye Dual Time Koda (0.16% ) and Osilica Western Resources (0.26%). The NFT was sold on OpenSea for 230 ETH on February 17, when ETH was valued at $1,695.

2) Other contract #11260 – 212.56 ETH ($402,200)

This other contract, containing shrine mentor koda head 1/1 and gorillatron koda core 1/1, sold on Blur for 212.56 ETH on April 11, when the price of ETH was $1,892.

Unfortunately, this NFT was also sent to the burn address on July 6th.

1) Other Contract Extension #5227 – 270 ETH ($514,350)

The most expensive Metaverse NFT of 2023 is Otherdeed Expanded #5227. Including Pandora’s Box artifact (1/1), lumileaf east resources (3%), and sulfur environment (4%), when ETH was priced at $1,905 on May 3, it was worth $514,350 at the time of sale.
