Among them, the number of domestic personal accounts reached 7.23 million, accounting for 99.2%, an increase of more than 39,000 from the previous month.

Last month, the total number of stock market accounts fell from 7.44 million to 7.25 million. According to VSDC statistics, the total number of newly opened accounts reached 148,600, and the number of closed accounts was 341,400. Among them, MB Securities Co., Ltd. (HN:) has the largest number of closed accounts, with nearly 340 accounts. .

Regarding the performance of the stock market in 2023, as of December 29, the index was 1,129 points, an increase of 12% from the end of 2022. The liquidity of the stock market reached 17.5 trillion VND per quarter, and the market value is expected to reach 60 billion VND, an increase of 12% from the end of 2022. The annual growth rate is 9.5%, equivalent to approximately 62% of GDP in 2022.

The average trading volume of the derivatives market remained stable at 263,000 contracts/session. The number of new investor accounts newly registered and opened in 2023 will be 355,000, bringing the total number of accounts of existing stock investors to more than 7 million.

Previously, on December 29, 2023, Vice Prime Minister Liming Kai signed Decision No. 1726/QD-TTg, approving the stock market development strategy until 2030.

In particular, the stock market capitalization targets 100% of GDP by 2025 and 120% of GDP by 2030. By 2025, the number of investor securities trading accounts in the stock market will reach 9 million, and by 2030, it will reach 11 million. The focus will be on developing organizational investors, professional investors, and attracting the participation of foreign investors. The proportion of government bonds held by non-bank investors will increase to 55% by 2025 and to 60% by 2030.
